"On May 23, 2000, approximately 100 hundred students from various middle schools around New York City gathered in the Great Hall of Shepard Hall at City College for an all day design charrette. The event, developed and hosted by the Salvadori Center, was co-sponsored by ICIS. Several teachers from the representative schools were also present, while architecture and engineering professionals, and ICIS graduate students Stephen James and Julia Goldschmidt served as mentors for the different teams of student designers."
