K-12 Education Workshop

"Institute for Civil Infrastructure Systems (ICIS) held a workshop on K-12 education at NYU on August 20, 1998. This workshop was part of the Education and Adaptive Learning (EAAL) Program of ICIS. EAAL seeks to develop and promote the use of innovative and interactive teaching methods to enhance the knowledge of current and future infrastructure professionals, as well as the public at large in an effort to build a stronger connection between community values and infrastructure development.  The more specific goal of the K-12 program is to identify curriculum and enrichment opportunities that will foster a greater appreciation among youth of how civil infrastructure relates to community viability. The purpose of the August 20 workshop was to develop an overall strategy and agenda for the K-12 program to further this goal."
