Art Lembo

Senior Research Associate and Lecturer, Cornell University

Art Lembo is a Senior Research Associate and Lecturer in the Department of Crop and Soil Sciences at Cornell University. His teaching responsibilities include Geographic Information Systems, Resource Inventory Methods, Spatial Modeling and Analysis, and the Global Positioning System. Dr. Lembo's research interests focus on the development of algorithms for spatial modeling, and the implementation of very large spatial data warehouses for enterprise operations. He was recently awarded a grant by NASA to develop the model curriculum for Geospatial Information Technologies, and is currently working on a National Science Foundation grant to model the effects of the World Trade Center collapse on underground infrastructure. Education: B.S., Geography, State University of New York at Oneonta, 1987; M.A., Geography, State University of New York at Buffalo, 1989; and Ph.D., Environmental Resource Engineering, State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry, 1997.
