JETS/ICIS Pre-College Education Survey

Author: Junior Engineering Technical Society

The pre-college educational arena contains a broad scope of activities, programs, competitions and materials that range from large national competitions to mini-activities developed by local high schools, universities and industry.

JETS has completed its survey of current resources and activities, and has put together a database of pre-college educational programs that focus on math, science, engineering and technology. Within the context of the Institute for Civil Infrastructure System’s vision to “facilitate, build partnerships and networks,” we specifically looked for those activities that address the ICIS concept of infrastructure, integration, and human values to the K-12 audience. A second survey was distributed to civil engineering, planning and public administration departments across the country; moreover, a web search of programs and resources was performed.
