Infrastructure Management System (IMS) for a Water Distribution Network

Author: Annie Raven-Vanrenterghem, Research Fellow, Polytechnic University

"Our overall interest is to bring efficiency to the management of mostly buried infrastructure and therefore contribute to the

development of Infrastructure Management Systems (IMS). Our strategy includes an array of approaches with a common reliance on a synergic collaboration between infrastructure media, technical and scientific disciplines, countries, or institutional categories (public/private). More specifically, we are working at developing an IMS for large urban water piping networks. In this paper we will justify the development of a water distribution network IMS and describe the research needs and overall strategy involved."
