The Public Uses Technology to Analyze a Decision

Author: Martha A. Rozelle, Ph.D.

"The focus of this paper is to report on the use of  decision-support technology to incorporate the public’s values into a decision process. The use of technology must be coupled with a well-designed public participation program and is one of many tools or techniques that may be appropriate. CoNexus® is the tool I am certified to use. In every instance that I have used it, the results have added value to the discussion and overall decision. The public’s views of the technology have been mixed and continue to refine the process. I will describe the application of the technology in a brief case study and will bring the report to the workshop on October 26th if anyone is interested in looking at the data. I will also discuss some of the lessons learned."
